Before you choose a community in York Region, choose your commute. The options are better than most Toronto residents assume.
Line 1 subway
The Yonge-University line ends at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, about 45 minutes from Union. It is the only rapid transit in the region that runs all day, every day, at subway frequency. Viva Blue on Yonge Street and Viva Orange on Highway 7 feed it.
Barrie GO line
Stations at Rutherford and Maple in Vaughan, then King City, Aurora, Newmarket and beyond. Maple to Union is roughly 40 to 50 minutes; Aurora about an hour. Service runs all day with more trains at peak.
Richmond Hill GO line
From Richmond Hill station through Langstaff and Old Cummer to Union in around 50 minutes. Historically a peak-hour line, so check the current schedule if you need off-peak trips.
Stouffville GO line
Stouffville and five Markham stations (Mount Joy, Markham, Centennial, Unionville, Milliken) down to Union. Unionville to Union is about 45 minutes.
Driving
Highway 400 and 404 into the city, the 407 across the region for a toll. The 407 is the reason so many York Region residents work in Mississauga or Durham rather than downtown.
We map the commute for every buyer before we book a single showing. Tell us where you work and we will narrow the region down to the communities that fit.
