Innisfil is the lakeshore town directly south of Barrie, running along the west side of Lake Simcoe from Big Bay Point down to Gilford. Alcona is the main community with the town centre, schools and Innisfil Beach Park; Friday Harbour is the resort development with a marina, golf and condos; the rest is waterfront homes, year-round cottages and newer subdivisions.
Highway 400 runs along the western boundary and Barrie South GO is about ten minutes away, with a GO station planned inside Innisfil as part of the town’s growth plans. It is the most affordable waterfront within reach of the GTA, which is why it keeps coming up.
Why people choose Innisfil

Is Innisfil a cottage market or a year-round market?
Both. Alcona and the newer subdivisions are year-round communities; the shoreline has a mix of full-time homes and seasonal cottages.
How far is Innisfil from Vaughan?
About 60 kilometres up Highway 400, roughly 45 minutes outside rush hour.
What should I check on a waterfront property?
Shoreline ownership, septic and well, flood mapping and road access in winter. We work with local inspectors.
